Yes. Federal regulations often prohibit halibut fishing on certain days (commonly Tuesdays and Wednesdays) during the summer to conserve stocks. We will be posting a blog on the 2026 regulations once we know what days those are. We do, however, utilize a special GAF permit that allows us to keep halibut on those closed days!     • Eligible for a full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee (based on total trip cost).

    30 to 59 Days Before Trip

    • Eligible for a 50% refund.

    30 Days or Less Before Trip

    • Non-refundable.

For this additional 10% fee, you can protect your travel investment and ensure you're covered.
Important: If you’ve purchased Cancellation Protection, you must cancel at least 48 hours before your trip to be eligible for a refund. The standard 10% administrative fee will still apply, in accordance with our standard cancellation policy. In the event of a weather cancellation, you will receive a full refund less the price of Cancellation Protection. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the trip are non-refundable.

Alaska's weather is highly unpredictable. We make our weather calls the morning of the trip. Destination Alaska management works closely with your captain to make the right decision. Oftentimes times weather will change throughout the day.
