Destination Alaska Charters Inc. engaged premier boat builder Bay Welding Inc. to design and build a charter vessel rugged enough to handle Alaska’s coastal waters and yet refined for passenger comfort. The following is a partial list of our vessel's features:

  • 44’ total length - one of the largest 10-12 passenger welded aluminum charter vessels in Homer
  • 13’ wide - provide maximum stability and space for groups large and small

  • Double side doors for easy access from dock-to-deck
  • Single stern door - access to large swim deck for easy netting of your trophy salmon

  • Diamond plate aluminum floors with dual fish boxes to hold your days catch
  • Full galley kitchen with stainless cooktop stove, oven, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, and double sink
  • Custom solid surface countertops
  • Keurig coffee maker – all day hot beverages
  • Fully insulated and heated cabin via Espar D-5 forced air heater for comfortable quiet travel to and from the fishing grounds
  • Teak wood ceilings and cabinet trim – warm yacht-like feel
  • Dual heated co-captain chairs and table seating for 8
  • Large forward V-berth sleeping area
  • Large state room under main cabin
  • 150 gallons of freshwater storage – hot and cold running water
  • Full size marine head (bathroom) with sink and shower – comfort and privacy
  • Cannon Digi-Troll downriggers with auto-depth sensor and retrieve technology – 4 complete set-ups to troll for trophy salmon.
  • 800 lb. roof crane for easy deployment of kayaks and rafts
  • Commercial pot puller for retrieving Tanner crab and shrimp pots (late season)
  • 500 gallons of fuel – long range trips with plenty of reserves
  • Sea Keeper 6 gyro stabilization system – eliminates 90% vessel roll (no sea sickness!)
  • Triple Yamaha 425 HP outboard motors – 1275 total HP to get you out there and back fast – more time to fish and take in the sights
  • Yamaha Helm Master Control system - virtual anchor, autopilot, and joystick with full lateral control
  • 6 KW Northern Lights generator for full on-board AC power
  • Dual Garmin 1242xsv sonar depth and fishfinders – state-of-the-art technology to keep you on the fish
  • Aft steer station with full Garmin display and Helm Master joystick control
  • Oversized fish cleaning station at transom with wash down and insulated bait storage box
  • Extra-large cabin 360-degree windows – see waterfalls, whales, wildlife, and more from our comfortable cabin

After much debate, we finally made the switch! When it comes to doing what we love in the great Alaskan outdoors, the reliability and performance of our equipment mean everything. These engines from Yamaha are a work of art! The performance, fuel economy, reliability, and ease of use are unrivaled in the outboard industry.
