Support Staff Associate

Destination Alaska is a top tier, first class tourism company, specializing in customized adventure packages. Destination Alaska Adventure Company is an outdoor adventure company based in Homer, AK. We are looking for a self-motivated, flexible, hard worker who is eager to gain experience in the tourism industry. We have an opening for a seasonal worker to join our support staff. Job duties range from assisting in tours to general maintenance of planes, boats, office, and cabins.

Physical setting: Office (Based in Homer, Alaska)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willing and ready to help in multiple capacities, including routine maintenance for our fleet of boats, planes, Argos, cabins to assisting on tours bear viewing, fishing charters or Argoing
  • Familiar with basic tools, lawn equipment and cleaning supplies
  • Friendly demeaner, positive attitude and customer centric mindset
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work in a professional manner
  • Able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Flexible schedule and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varying tasks day-to-day

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience towing trailers
  • Mechanical background
  • 2+ years of experience in the tourism industry
  • Local knowledge of Homer and Alaska

Sales/Office Associate

Destination Alaska is a top-tier, first-class tourism company, specializing in customized adventure packages. We are looking for a Sales/Office Associate who can help drive customer sales. This person must be sales-focused, organized and able to excel in a fast-paced working environment. They should have a background in tourism based in Homer and/or Alaska. The ideal candidate will prioritize customer experience above all else and act as the customer liaison without the duration of trip.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Background in sales and tourism (preferably Alaskan-based)
  • Basic knowledge of MS office e.g., Word and Excel
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, we need someone who understands that the customer experience starts and ends with our sales and office staff.
  • Customer-focused and sales-driven
  • Comfortable answering customer questions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of FareHarbor
  • Team-focused with particular ability to work across teams
