We Purchased Alaska Air Taxi!

Throughout the year our family looks at new ways we can improve our service to folks coming to Alaska. The common thread for our customers is that the majority of them begin and end their vacations in Anchorage. So, when we were presented with the opportunity to purchase a hangar, dock, and office building on Lake Hood, it made perfect sense. Last week, Destination Alaska purchased this facility and the business assets of Alaska Air Taxi LLC. Along with chartered V.I.P. flights from Anchorage to Homer, we will be offering shuttle service from local hotels and International Airport (across the street) to our office for the flight down to Homer. The previous owner has agreed to consult with us on other flights throughout Alaska including village deliveries, lodge support, freight drops, and other services needed north and west of Anchorage. The Jackson family and Destination Alaska team are excited about this new location and potential for seamless flight service for our guests. Let us know if we can help!

Meet our Second vessel for the 2022 Season, the F/V Alaska Endeavor! This boat is a 42ft. custom Bayweld originally built for the Alaska State Troopers. Due to a delay in the custom boats we are currently building with Bayweld, we found ourselves in need of a boat for 2022. This platform is a perfect match! It is currently in the shop undergoing a makeover. Some of the upgrades include:

  • Seakeeper 6 Gyro-stabilization system
  • Full Custom Vinyl Wrap
  • Interior update with expansion for seating
  • Outfitting for fishing
  • And some secret projects!

Stay tuned on this page for more project updates. There will be a completion announcement in our upcoming Newsletter so be sure to Subscribe!

Meet our latest in Turbine Otters, N254AW! The super otter is the ultimate Alaskan transport plane. Equipped with 1000HP garret engine, this plane can take an incredible load for long distances and land in tight places. This plane will spend the majority of its summer bear viewing all over the state! Stay tuned to this page and our newsletter for pictures and updates as we get closer to the summer.

Meet our newest location on the Homer Spit! It is currently undergoing renovations to make it Destination Alaska worthy.
